Hand-pulled photopolymer print.
Number 1 in a limited edition of 20. I took some photos of an old arboretum in which the plants seemed to be competing for every square inch of space by the windows. I transferred one of my images to a transparent sheet of acetate. This was then laid over a piece of photo sensitive plate and exposed to the sun for 30 seconds. The result of this process, often referred to a solar printing, is that the dark areas are etched when the plate is placed in water. When the plate is inked up, these etched areas retain more ink and hence print in darker tones. The print was pulled in the usual way: a dampened piece of Hahnemuhle paper was laid over the top and it was run through my printing press.
Image size: 14.5cm x 20.5cm. Paper size: 22.5cm x 28.0cm.
This print will be wrapped in tissue paper and shipped in a very sturdy tube to ensure it gets to you safely.
